For the first time since their founding in 2008, the Munich Irish Rovers FC Ladies' team are league champions. After a season full of belief, commitment and brilliant team spirit, the girls sealed the Frauen A-Klasse title with a 4-1 win away at SpVgg Höhenkirchen on the final day – a result that also secured promotion to the Kreisklasse.
Former men’s team player Dom Werth joined as assistant coach to support the growing squad, helping bring out the best in both newcomers and seasoned players. “I have to say thanks to Dave for showing me the ropes,” said Dom. “He has the perfect way of communicating with this team. I’m really proud of the girls – and they should be proud of themselves too.” For club captain Katrin Trojer, who has worn the Rovers shirt for 15 years, the title is a landmark moment: “I just want to thank the girls for making this happen. And thanks also to Dave and Dom for caring for us and showing such patience along the way.”
With the title in hand and promotion secured, the Rovers Ladies now look ahead to the Kreisklasse – and to building on a season no one at the club will forget.
